Nurse Unit ManagerEpworth Healthcare Dec 2016 - Jun 2019I managed a 40 bed Oncology/Haematology/Palliative Care inpatient unit. I led the growth and expansion of the haematology service delivery as well as organisational change to support such a service. This includes development/ changes to the nursing model of care and operational management to develop the infrastructure for an acute haematology service with a focus on building the skill mix of the nursing workforce and policy procedural development/ change. The service delivery grew threefold in a year with a robust team. I was part of the design and planning executive team for the HEPA filtered patient rooms for immunocompromised patients. Established the foundation and nurse training (initiated and organised Austin Health observation days) for an autologous transplant service. Oversaw and led the implementation of the clinical trials service development and integration onto the ward. -

This research helped inform service provision as well as used for the LFA submission to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) submission in support of Ruxolitinib onto the PBS. I attended the PBAC meeting to provide the LFA recommendations as part of my role based on my research. -
