I recently graduated from Career Foundry's UI Immersion bootcamp and completed a UI Animation specialization course. I recently made a career change from veterinary medicine to the tech industry, and am hoping to find a full time position in UI/UX web and product design. In my current role as an IT administrative assistant, I work with people from all areas of tech, from executives to designers and developers to support staff, and understand the inner workings of what makes an IT department function. I am able to facilitate communication and planning between all divisions and know that open dialogue and efficient communication is key. I am also lucky to have the opportunity to intern with the TriMet web design team and assist with improving user experience within the transit tracking and planning site. I am looking for a junior design role where I can combine my communication skills and hands on work style with my eye for design and detail in order to inspire efficient, useful, and beautiful design.I came to design because my first passion has always been in the fine arts, and I have been a freelance illustrator and artist since I was young. My years of experience in the veterinary industry taught me invaluable communication and time management skills, and working in an IT department has given me a big picture view of how a tech company functions, from planning and budget to interdepartmental teamwork and problem solving. I am a skilled multitasker and extremely time efficient. I often have to learn new skills and be confident performing on the fly, as well as figuring things out on my own and knowing how to ask the right questions. I consider myself skilled at bridging communication gaps professionally and compassionately, even in high stress situations. I am uniquely skilled to combine my talent and eye for design with my attention to detail and efficient work style.
