As a therapist, my clinical work with adolescents and adults draws from relational and attachment-focused therapies, as well as meditation and mindfulness, feminism, and social justice advocacy.

⬙ Supported CPS students via individual and group counseling, community-building, and crisis de-escalation.⬙ Assisted teachers and support staff in the development, application, and tracking of Social Emotional Learning and restorative justice curricula for students.⬙ Provided supervisory support to undergraduate and graduate-level social work interns.

⬙ Collaborated with an interdisciplinary team of attorneys and community organizers to advocate for the rights of currently and formerly incarcerated adults and their families.⬙ Supported exonerees during the reentry process, facilitating linkage with medical, mental health, housing and employment resources.⬙ Cultivated relationships with local businesses, non-profit organizations, and social service agencies to increase reentry supports for formerly incarcerated adults and their families.⬙ Hosted events for clients, families, and other community members on topics relevant to the reentry process.⬙ Provided supervisory support to undergraduate interns and volunteers.

⬙ Worked as part of a Community Support Team (CST) that served adults living with severe and persistent mental illness, providing short-term counseling, crisis de-escalation, case management, and client advocacy.⬙ Collaborated with in-house psychiatrists and nurse psychiatrists to offer basic education on psychotropic medications.⬙ Connected clients with local organizations that provide food, clothing, shelter, and opportunities for social engagement.

⬙ Provided individual, short-term counseling for academically gifted, economically underserved preadolescents, incorporating mindfulness and attachment-focused therapeutic orientations.⬙ Co-facilitated after-school support groups for students, focusing on the topics of personal and academic goal-setting, peer relationships, and family dynamics.

⬙ Provided individual, short-term therapy for community college students.⬙ Co-facilitated creative arts workshops for LaGuardia’s Students with Disabilities Club.

⬙ Organized and co-facilitated sexual health education activities at this after-school youth program at Gale Academy, a Chicago Public School for middle school-age students.⬙ In surveys taken at the beginning and end of the school year, the majority of student participants demonstrated an increase in knowledge of safe sexual practices.

Provided reproductive health counseling to adolescents, adults, and families. Counseling services included: information on the abortion procedure, contraception, and STI/HIV prevention, as well as psychological support for women prior to undergoing the surgical abortion procedure.
