Currently interested in relocating to Chicago.My interest in psychology started in high school where I took a general course, I fell in love right away. Along with my desire to help people, it only seemed logical to pursue a psychology, human services career.During my undergraduate years, I had the opportunity to explore the different areas of psychology, sociology, and human services courses. I have found them greatly enlightening and quite fascinating. My perspective on what makes people human completely changed after learning what makes people tick.I particularly found an interest in psychopathology; I took an internship at a mental heath facility and learned a great deal with hands on experience. I was able to directly work with those dealing with disabilities such as schizophrenia and bi-polar. I enjoyed it so much I applied for a mental health direct support specialist position as soon as my internship was over at the same location. The team was so impressed with my dedication they hired me right away. I worked at the facility while still taking classes at my college for about a year now. Once I graduate, I plan to continue working in the mental health, and eventually continue onto graduate school to become a social worker. My aspiration to help others has never ceased, I feel as if the mental health field is exactly what I've been looking for.
