Ever since I was little, I had a love for math and for building things. This love has led me to pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering.I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. I have successfully designed, manufactured, and hot fired a liquid propellant rocket engine. I was responsible for designing mounting structures and testing all valves on the system. I gained a working knowledge of how components work together to deliver gaseous oxygen and kerosene to the engine. I gained hands-on experience working with engine components and fabricating lines to components. For the second engine (cryogenic liquid propulsion engine), I was the systems engineer. I designed the fluid system schematic (P&ID) for the liquid oxygen and liquid methane engine. I gained a thorough understanding of fluid and mechanical systems for cryogenic rocket engines. My schematic presented temperatures, pressures, valve cv, and the layout of all components in the system. I then recreated my schematic in SolidWorks to fit inside a 6” diameter tube. I created excel sheet calculators to analyze the pressure drop throughout the system as the high pressurized fluid flowed through valves, fittings, regulators, tanks, and lines. I also delivered design review presentations for the work I had done over the accelerated summer schedule. Lastly, I interned at Raytheon Intelligence and Space for the summer and was offered the opportunity of working part-time while I conclude my last semester. I learned how to use GD&T and apply tolerance analysis for the proper fit of components in an assembly. I used CREO to design fixtures to hold radar components in place while a thermal management paste was applied to the component. I learned how to use PDM while working on drawings and models. Presently, I am a full time design engineer in mechanical space test equipment at Raytheon. I am continuing to grow as a mechanical engineer and reach my goals.

Mechanical Engineering InternRaytheon Technologies May 2020 - Dec 2020Arlington, Va, UsUnder the Raytheon Space & Intelligence business, I worked in the hardware department in a highly motivated engineering team environment, collaborating with a small team of engineers through the development of state-of-the-art radar systems. • Worked on designing mounting fixtures for individual radar components before assembly• Used CREO to modify models and create limited dimension drawings• Used tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit with other components• Applied GD&T to drawings based on design intent and its usefulness for defining allowable feature tolerance for proper assembly with other components• Hands-on experience with machined parts and assemblies -
System Engineer For A Cryogenic Liquid Propellant Rocket EngineSenior Design Capstone Nov 2019 - Dec 2020The goal of this project was to design a liquid propellant rocket engine to fly in the FAR/MARS competition. The Fluid Impulse team competed in the UTDallas Design Challenge and won $20,000 to build a liquid propellant rocket engine for senior design. Role: Systems Engineer• Successfully hot fired a gaseous oxygen and kerosene rocket engine• Performed fluid flow testing through components to ensure proper flowrates and analyze pressure dropo Created CdA vs Valve Angle curve by flowing water through the valves at different angles and pressures• Used Visio to create propulsion system schematic (P&ID) from the high-pressure tank to the engineo Analyzed pressure drop using customized excel calculators through the system as propellant flowed through fittings, lines, and components• Sized valves, tanks, and regulator based on inlet/outlet pressures and flow rates• Gained a proficient understanding of propulsion system components such as regulators, valves, high-pressure tanks, fittings, and lines• Designed, manufactured, and tested pneumatically actuated valves• Designed, manufactured, and tested motor actuated valves• Used SolidWorks to design mounting fixtures for valves• Welded mounting fixture assemblies for valves• Conducted high-pressure testing of components
