Samantha is a terrific young woman who is also a wonderful actress, an award winning choreographer and a natural leader and role model. I have had the pleasure of working with Samantha in numerous productions. She has served as the choreographer for our award winning production of Metamorphoses (November 2013), Anyone Can Whistle (March 2014), Bat Boy, the Musical (March 2013), Pippin (March 2012 - “Rising Star Award” winning Best Choreographer), Sweeney Todd (March 2011 - “Rising Star Award” winning Outstanding Overall Production), among others. Her outstanding personality and sense of humor are always present throughout the most stressful of these times and her organizational skills are amazing. Her professionalism and patience is always evident as she deftly juggles her demanding schedule and yet always manages to find time to work with individual students to help them internalize a dance move or a character trait. Samantha is also an excellent performer. I have had the pleasure of seeing her perform in several productions and have also shared many conversations with her concerning the craft of acting. She is a very diligent woman who is constantly working on her craft and continuing to grow as an actress, a dancer, a teacher and a person. She is unafraid to take risks and will gladly tackle a new concept or approach, working tirelessly to make it her own. This is illustrated by her recent Meisner class, which was taught by William Esper, a master teacher of the Meisner technique. It is this quality of constantly striving to grow, to learn, to improve that makes her such a tremendous role model. Samantha is a fabulous role model for our students. In rehearsal, she always displays a perfect blend of professionalism and high expectations with a calm, nurturing personality that helps the students mature and take risks. She never speaks down to the students, but rather strives to see the best in everyone. The students absolutely adore working with her and being challenged by someone of her talent and vision.
