My role as a consultant involves working on a peace-building media initiative in Pakistan’s FATA region and supporting research for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It includes; • Working with the UK managing director to design a detailed narrative of the research programme for a Pakistan media initiative called Pakhto Voices. The document details the methodology and implementation of content analysis of radio and print, ethnographic observations of citizens in the FATA region, a quantitative questionnaire and qualitative interviews. SMS data analysis and a study of the mobile telephony in the region also plays a large part of the research design • In conjunction with the UK managing director and a veteran audience research expert, constructing and implementing a two week of capacity building programme with local research staff in Islamabad.
