I was an instructor for a student-led course exploring discrete combinatorial optimization. The advanced computing elective covers network flows, mixed-integer linear programming, P v. NP, approximation and heuristic algorithms, and genetic algorithms. As a student teaching team of 3 undergraduate seniors, we were responsible for all aspects of the course including planning, preparing materials for classtime including lectures, creating assignments and projects, and hosting office hours. We met weekly with content and pedagody advisors to talk through the course, ask for feedback and guidance, and brainstorm ways to further improve the course both technically and pedagogy wise.
