I was employed as a Business Development Officer / Residential Conveyancer, and my main duties were to promote the domestic, residential and commercial conveyancing services of what was primarily known as a London based Personal Injury firm. I worked remotely and in the Leeds office covering the whole of the North East region from Berwick-upon-Tweed down to Leeds. The majority of my work was home based, with regular trips to Leeds to oversee the smooth running of the conveyancing department. I was also responsible for training the existing and less experienced members of staff to ensure a more speedy and reliable service

My role at Stanton Croft was to develop a new Conveyancing Department, which involved making new contacts and maintaining relationships with existing contacts as well as carrying out the full range of conveyancing services for clients. I was heavily involved in marketing for both the Conveyancing Department and Personal Injury Department. This often involved running open days and arranging events to promote the business throughout the region.During my time with the company, it acquired several practices in the North East and I had sole responsibility for building a new conveyancing department within each new office. I was responsible for recruiting, training and managing the staff within these new departments and set up and maintained IT systems in each office.

I was asked to rejoin this firm by the Managing Partner to help develop their Conveyancing Department. I assisted the Conveyancing Manager and was involved in marketing the firm. I also dealt with my own caseload and acted as Office Manager, reporting directly to the Partners.
