Samantha P. Javier is managing partner of PRAXIS Associates PH Co. She also co-founded three other Filipino start-up companies in the tech, education, and community development sectors.A development worker by profession, Sam has served as consultant to various government, private, and non-government agencies. She earned the degrees BS Development Communication from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (cum laude) and Master of Community Development (academic excellence award recipient) at the University of the Philippines Diliman. Sam currently serves as lecturer at the De La Salle University and Ateneo de Manila University, and as a youth communications and media consultant for the Asian Development Bank’s Youth for Asia initiative. She is also the first Filipina to have been selected as facilitator for the Ship for World Youth (SWY) Program, a global leadership program sponsored by the Cabinet Office, Government of Japan, where she handled the information and media discussion group back in 2018-2019. Sam has recently completed her six-week fellowship program in the United States through the US State Department's Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) Spring-Summer 2022 cohort.A paper that was based on her master’s thesis bagged the Best Paper Award in the 9th National Social Science Congress. The same paper was recently published by the Philippine Social Science Council as a chapter in the book Resilience in Our Times. Sam believes that no child should be helpless in times of emergencies and disasters and that the school must be at the center of disaster education in each barangay.
