Advising undergraduate students one-on-one using a non-directive, non-evaluative technique to improve their writing process.

TA position in the Liberal Arts Honors Program for a writing-intensive freshman introductory course. Mentoring 11 freshman Honors students to improve their academic writing, independently grading weekly papers and encouraging students to experiment with writing through weekly essays with grammar and style writing challenges.

Assisted Liberal Arts Honors staff and professors in organizational and administrative duties. Advised incoming freshmen LAH members during summer orientation sessions.

Connect LAHers with professional opportunities by planning professional development events and providing practical resources. Host academic development events for LAH students, providing students with places to engage in rigorous, intellectual conversation regarding current events, literature, etc.

Collaborated with a team of FYRs to represent the interests of freshman class within the governing body for the larger honors program of 500+ students. Facilitated and executed various social events, promoting community among first-year students in the LAH cohort.

Wrote grant proposals, researched potential donors, and handled logistics for fundraising events, which fund the largest free book festival in Texas as well as year-long programming events to promote literacy. Assisted Development Director in overseeing annual donor gala, which brought in 210k in donations to the program, a 100k increase from previous years’ revenues. Manage logistics at the festival events, addressing sponsor and major donor needs throughout the weekend.

Participated in an internship training program for later as a consultant in the University Writing Center. Engage in cohort-wide discussions and projects on Writing Center philosophy. Strengthen already present skills in grammar and peer tutoring through writing exercises and close study. Observe and shadow consultants to gain practical experience working in the center.
