Manage laboratory operations in a facility with 100+ researchers.• Effectively communicate with a large and diverse group.• Procurement of research supplies for all project teams. Worked under direction of Dr. Jeff Tyner and Dr. Brian Druker in their laboratory.• Demonstrated leadership in training 10+ employees to process patient material and meet FDA and CLIA/CAP requirements for research clinical trials• Oversaw and developed a tracking system for patient sample material to identify and send over 1,000 leukemia patient samples for genomic/transcriptomic sequencing• Mentored Research Assistant II for 2 years and assisted in the mentorship of visiting medical students for two summers• Successfully managed multiple projects at both an individual and team level• Authored and contributed to 10+ research publications, presented research posters at four national conferences• Performed molecular biology experiments including: mammalian tissue culture, functional drug screens, siRNA-knowdown, apoptosis Annexin assays, transfection/transduction and some flow cytometry. Protein expression analysis using western and protein crystallization using SF9 insect cells. • Extensive experience isolating plasma and mononuclear cells from patient bone marrow aspirate or peripheral blood samples.
