In this position, I completed my thesis research titled "Influence of Row Pattern and Prohexadione Calcium on Peanut (Arachis hypogaea) Maturity and Profitability". I assisted with field research tasks, such as disease scores and inoculating fields with fungi and mold. I also assisted my fellow graduate students with laboratory tasks such as Aflatoxin mold detection.

Urban Forestry -Maintained recently planted street trees and completed research on the city's urban forest. Used the Davey TreeKeeper 6.0 GIS system to keep detailed records of all trees in public right-of-ways, city parks, and greenspaces. Utility ForestryLearned about the different types and voltages of electrical wires (primary vs secondary, transmission vs distribution, etc.). Answered citizen calls about tree limbs growing near their powerlines, inspected the area of concern to see if it was up to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) standards, then reported my findings to the crews and the citizen. Completed research tasks on transmission corridors in Hamilton and at a Hamilton-owned hydro dam in Chile, Ohio in collaboration with ACRT Inc. and Dr. Anand Persad. Show less

Worked with a wide variety of indoor exotic plants including orchids, citrus, tropical, and desert plants as well as a wide variety of outdoor native and landscape plants. Scouted and treated insect pests and diseases within the collection. Propagated plants via seed, air layering, cuttings, tissue culture, and grafting. Created and maintained a fertilizer schedule for the orchid collection. Updated the records of the plants in the collection.
