Each class included about 25 undergraduate students that were evaluated by delivering five extemporaneous speeches throughout the course. As their teacher, I advanced their education through daily lectures, office hours, student meetings and graded evaluations.

As a Legislative Intern in the Mayor's Office, I had the opportunity to assist the staff on day to day projects. I was directly responsible for handling constituent cases, calls, letters, complaints, proclamations and service requests as received by the Mayor’s Office. In additional projects, I worked with the Law Department in collecting data for a legal case, including data from police records and property reports. I provided legislative research on key policies and projects for staff members. From this experience, I gained a working knowledge of city government and the individual departments.

In this position, I planned engaging issues events for the students at the University of Louisville. As a chair, I had to create, budget, plan, manage and advertise the events. Events planned included a lecture by To Write Love On Her Arms founder Jamie Tworkowski, Sustainability Week, a Women Empowerment Week, a vegetarian awareness event and a speech by author Harlan Cohen.

As a State Senate Intern, I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge of the Kentucky State Government. During my internship, I was directly responsible for constituent work, attending committee meetings, research on legislative issue, collecting data on numerous projects and assisting in writing and passing a bill on education.
