As a counselor with the Summer Residential Governor's School, I led a group of 16 rising high school juniors and seniors as they lived in a simulated college environment to further their academic and extracurricular skills. I was responsible for ensuring the general well being of the students, helped organize extracurricular activities like Open Mic Nights, off campus trips, and planned a dance for the entire program on a small budget. I paid particular attention to students who would be first generation college students and served as a mentor to my group.
