For the first four weeks, I served as a teacher's assistant for one of my bosses in his architecture, construction, and engineering (ACE) course. Our class was focused on forces and structures and required students to use basic design principles taught in-class to create a tower that could withstand the forces due to our earth-quake simulator. I worked heavily alongside students in the lab portion in giving them tips on designing their towers, evaluating how many resources to allocate for each portion of their tower, and using the principles they learned in-class. In the last week of the course, I took on the role of teaching and taught the curriculum to about twenty students while one of my bosses was absent. Their overall tower success was phenomenal. This class was part of a general technology placement program for this all-boys technology school. Students took my course, along with four others, to determine which ones they were interested in learning more about in the fall to then later choose their final pick for the rest of their high school career. With our efforts, my boss and I were able to convince forty out of ninety students to choose our tech as one of their top three choices for the fall semester, and we were quite proud by the turnout.

Known as WESTT, this environmental engineering research opportunity on-campus involves taking a bio-mass sample, ours being algae, and transforming it into biofuel through the process of hydrothermal liquefaction. Although I did not serve a role in the research of this fuel, I did contribute to the overall process by conducting sanitation procedures to prevent skewed data. I also wrote a paper on how solar radiation affects the concentration of different algae cultures we produced. For full details on my role and my research paper, please refer to the attachment.

As an incoming Junior in high school, I served as the assistant to the Membership and Events Departments for SHPE. Working a paid full-time job for the first time, I gained invaluable experience on internal and external communication for event management that I have since used towards improving my college projects and leadership.
