Club Members engage in joy-filled, innovative, and meaningful classes, groups, and events that promote a sense of belonging.

Camp Wings of Friendship is a collaboration between The Friendship Journey of South Florida and Dylan’s Wings of Change of Newtown, Connecticut. Both nonprofit organizations connected by chance and began working together just before the COVID-19 crisis. In addition to the shared vision of a more compassionate world, the Parkland and Sandy Hook communities speak the language of loss. We honor those whose lives were taken due to violence and hatred by setting off ripples of kindness, understanding and love. We shifted our initial in-person plans and created virtual programming collaboratively based on our shared concerns for connection, belonging and esteem, offering on-screen gatherings and activities collectively everyday since March.

Plans, coordinates and evaluates activities by providing professional expertise and direction, improves processes and business performance in areas of operations, profitability, management, structure and strategy to meet the evolving needs of the organization, provides ongoing coaching, support and guidance to management, works closely with executives to ensure project strategies and priorities are aligned with organizational objectives, shares best practices, and reviews ideas to be transitioned for feasible implementation, and provides support to employees with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Directs the development and operations of all disability-related services, responsible for the quality of all programming, activities, and client services producing consistent, and quality results, orchestrates new multifaceted program initiatives, including a successful and innovative Vocational Training program, BOOST, designed for young adults on the autism spectrum, develops and manages program budget and ensures contract requirements are being met, prepares and presents reports and proposals, develops and maintains strong relationships with community partners, supervises case management, information and referral services and coordination of other direct services, hires, trains and supervises all program staff and volunteers.In addition to disability-related responsibilities, developed and launched the Gesher Voluntary Internship program, providing emerging leaders with meaningful hands-on opportunities to bridge their coursework and professional experience.
