Customer service and retail have been my passion for over a decade. I have worked for two of the largest fashion goods retailers: Bonton Stores Inc and Macy's Inc where I focused on customer engagement and sales. I then switched over to the competitive and innovative craft beer industry. I lived in Portland, Maine for four years where I got to experience many breweries, beer festivals, and even started making my own beer at home. I became a certified beer server with the Cicerone Certification Program and took a course in brewing technologies with the Siebel Institute of Technology both programs out of Chicago, IL.I took my knowledge of craft beer back to my hometown of Des Moines, Iowa in 2014 and have been honored to work for Confluence Brewing Company pouring beer in the taproom, continuing my education in the craft beer industry, as well as becoming well acquainted with the local craft beer seen and local people.I have a Bachelors of Arts Degree in English and a minor in Psychology from Grand View University; Grand View taught me how to communicate effectively, and engage my critical and analytic mind through independent, group, and career centered curriculum. Intellectual and personal integrity was expected on and off campus as well as incorporated in our day-to-day lives. I was in a international honor society for English majors, Sigma Tau Delta, an honor society for high achievement in literary competence.
