This project is the first component of a study that investigates the burden of work for patients treating Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) with dialysis and practices done to coordinate treatment, referred to as navigation practices. Patients receiving dialysis treatment were given a survey that assesses the perception of their illness and treatment burden. The initial data analysis provided a distribution used to categorize the patients based on their Total Perceived Intrusiveness Score. Patients with the lowest and highest Perceived Intrusiveness will be invited for the following qualitative portions of the study that include observations and interviews to further investigate their navigation practices and how they manage their treatment.
