was born and raised in Jeddah. I received my undergraduate degree from King Abdul Aziz Unit. in 1988. After receiving my degree, I joined the Department of Anatomy and Embryology at KAU where I was the demonstrator. This further developed my interest in the field and led me to obtain my M.D. degree in 1993. I recognized a great opportunity to advance my knowledge; as such I decided to pursue a PHD in Anatomy and Embryology from King Saud University. I was determined to make a meaningful difference in the society by becoming first female Anatomist in Saudi Arabia , in addition my husband influenced my decision and supported my plans.Following my degree, I was appointed as Vice Dean of the Female Students Section at King Abdul Aziz University in1999 and was promoted to Dean in 2003. During that period, I realized that leadership is more like an art rather than ability. To me, the most crucial part of leadership is making people want to follow your lead and work hard to achieve a certain end or goal. I believe in the saying of Deborah Allen that once said, "A leader is someone who can visualize a better world in the future and is able to convince others to join him/her on the journey." I worked as the Supervisor of Anatomy Dept. at KAU and Part- time consultant (adviser of quality) at private medical College. I love and support my department, continuously working to improve it. During my tenure, I have written articles, given presentations and attended several training courses in my field of expertise. In addition, I have won several citations ,Currently ,I am the director of the medical program department at Saudi culture mission on Washington -DCI participated at a lot of volunteer activitivites.recentely I had awards from NYU,Tufts unv.Emory, MCPU, DC, and a lot of appreciation from different saudi agenciesI have achieved a lot so far in my career, but I feel there is still so much more that I want to achieve and aim to improve with every day that passes.
