Co-Founder And PresidentRadical Theory Club Jan 2023 - Oct 2023As co-founder of Radical Theory Club (RTC), I built a community centered around my shared interest in academic theory. In this space, I co-led PowerPoint-guided open discussions that take topics like feminism and presentability politics and bring them to the pop culture arena—stimulating conversation and creating opportunities for students to learn from one another. RTC has since evolved into a powerful community space that educates as much as it empowers members to think critically about ways they can show up for themselves and their community. As, RTC meets weekly, I spent several hours of my time researching engaging material to share and engage members with. This preparation included reading theory-based novels,/research papers, watching documentaries/shorts, and listening to speeches and podcasts. I spent time creating slide decks as well as researching appropriate facilitation techniques so as to effectively engage with audience members. I also met throughout the week with my co-founder to centralize/streamline our presentation. -
