Growing up in the suburbs of Houston, Texas, there wasn't much opportunity for me to experience the great outdoors. I was sheltered by concrete roads, constant construction, and traffic jams. When I could escape the hustle and bustle of city life, I felt most at peace in the middle of nowhere in East Texas. Looking back, I should have known that Recreation, Parks, and Tourism was my passion.Currently, I am an undergraduate student at Texas A&M University studying Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Sciences with certificates in Hospitality Management and Recreation and Park Management. I am looking to break into the Resort industry so I may have the opportunity to share the positive impacts of Recreation and leisure with others.I love the Recreation industry's raw passion for serving the people and places we operate. The opportunity to learn from the diverse experiences of Recreation professionals and guests and to share my own is inspirational and transformative. Incorporating sustainable practices into the hospitality industry is a mission near to my heart. I believe that helping people to experience the outdoors is beneficial in helping us to maintain the beautiful landscapes we operate within.
