My name is Samara Sharp, and I am from Carmel, Indiana. I am currently a second year student at Indiana University in the Kelley School of Business majoring in Accounting and Finance with a minor in Dance. Throughout high school, I spent the majority of my time dancing on both the fall and winter dance teams as well as a competition team outside of school. Because I focused so much on dance in addition to school, it taught me how to be efficient with my time and stay dedicated to what matters to me. Being the oldest of three girls, I have had to mature quickly and not only look after myself but also after them. This lead me to my passion for nannying and I spent my last two summers working for different families daily. Before I nannied, I was a hostess at Sahms Ale House. Being a hostess forced me to interact with varying customers which led me to having better communication skills. I learned lots of valuable skills through this job such as leadership, accountability, and to always have a positive attitude. I am a very big people person and I want to pursue a career that interacts with individuals everyday. Traveling has always been a passion of mine and I have been fortunate enough to have gone to very interesting places. I intend to continue this passion when I travel abroad junior year. This past summer, I participated in a program called "Onward" where I get to intern in Israel for the summer. This was an extremely enriching and meaningful experience for me, although I was apprehensive at first about going alone. I have been accepted into the Business Leadership Club through IU Hillel where I have the opportunity to listen to current and past business leaders and learn from what they say. Recently, I have been working as the President of Alpha Epsilon Phi at Indiana University. I have loved working with new executive team and we have accomplished a lot thus far.
