Chief Meteorologist
Current•On-air meteorologist for the weekday editions of FOX5 News from 2 p.m. through 7 p.m. Accurately interpret complex weather data, reports, and projections to deliver a clear and concise forecast.•Manage resource allocation when the news department covers weather-related stories. Advise senior leadership and brief staff on where to send photographers and reporters to ensure they are in the heart of the weather impact.•Make strategic decisions under pressure daily, during breaking news, severe weather, and crisis situations. •Contribute to weather-related special reports, team coverage, and breaking news under tight deadlines.Develop creative weather graphics for television, digital, and social media using The Weather Company's MAX software. Proficient in producing augmented reality graphics through MAX Reality. Accomplishments•Created and implemented the "Weather on the Road'' school franchise. Visited dozens of elementary schools to teach students about the weather in a fun and interactive way that covers STEM teaching standards. The sponsored segment generated additional revenue for the news station while growing community outreach.•Conceptualized, designed, and coordinated the launch of augmented reality weather graphics utilizing MAX Reality software. Examples of the work were featured at NAB Show; the largest trade show for media, entertainment, and technology.•Consistent growth in ratings and market share during tenure at the news station. The afternoon and evening editions of FOX5 News are regularly the #1 rated newscasts during the time period.•Winner of five Emmy® Awards for weather coverage: NATAS Pacific Southwest Chapter.
