I am an independent journalist with more than 25 years of experience in broadcast news and television production. Now I work as a consultant and trainer. Communication training for corporates to improve work efficiency is my focus area. I am a certified trainer with Google News Initiative India Network specializing in News and Data Verification. I have also ventured into teaching broadcast and digital content creation in prestigious education institutions. I have worked with top national news networks like Network 18, Star News (now ABP News) and Zee News Network. Business and finance, politics, consumer issues and automobile sector have been my key coverage areas. I have had the chance to work in various departments of broadcast news. I have also worked with reputed production houses, creating content other than news. Researching, storytelling, visual thinking, scripting, production design, studio direction has been key to my success as a media person. As input editor I was responsible for setting the agenda for daily news coverage, selecting stories, planning execution. Editorial decision making and planning have been my strengths. As a team lead, I have worked towards mentoring and skill enhancement of my team on a regular basis. Writing short stories for children is something that I enjoy. I basically belong to Himachal Pradesh but being an army officer’s kid has given me an opportunity to understand and relate to different cultures across the country.
