As a scientific officer at Capital Pathology, I apply my master's degree in medical biotechnology (extension) to perform molecular tests for COVID-19 and other pathogens. I use machines like ANDIS, CFX, Cobas 4800, and Vela to extract, amplify, and identify the genetic material of various microorganisms, such as Neisseria Gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia Trachomatis, and Human Papillomavirus.I work with a team of professionals to prioritize samples, troubleshoot machines, report results, and communicate with doctors. I also manage stock of reagents and perform general laboratory duties. My role has enhanced my teamwork and communication skills, as well as my knowledge of laboratory information management system (LIMS). I am motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of the community through accurate and timely testing.
