I'm the Tech Lead of a growing logistics startup. I spearheaded the development of Agelgil, our Laravel-based delivery platform that leverages GIS expertise to provide efficient and transparent distribution of essential goods for government partners. Agelgil aims to revolutionize the way these goods are delivered, eliminating inefficiencies and ensuring they reach their intended recipients.

With a strong focus on backend development, I have successfully created over ten microservices that seamlessly integrate with the central system to deliver follow.it API feeds. I also designed and implemented the backend for RateItAll.com, a social network, and several in-house tools. I accomplished these achievements by closely collaborating with the CEO and a highly diverse international team.

In just six months, I led the design and development of a user-friendly cloud service management platform built on Apache CloudStack. This white-label solution offered functionalities similar to industry leaders like DigitalOcean and Linode, catering to a specific market segment with a focus on ease of use. The project's success was a result of collaboration with a skilled infrastructure team and a talented UI designer. Notably, the company rebranded as stackconsole.io after my departure, signifying the product's lasting impact and potential for various white-label applications.

Leading a dedicated team, I spearhead the research, design, development, and rigorous testing of secure communication products trusted by several of the country's highest-level government agencies.

During my time at the organization, I focused on strengthening cybersecurity. I conducted comprehensive security audits of various government systems, identifying vulnerabilities and developing effective mitigation strategies. In addition to my audit work, I also contributed to the organization's knowledge base by writing and presenting a research paper titled "Amharic Language Letter Frequency Distribution" at their first InHouse cybersecurity conference.

I created, developed and directed the most lucrative product that our company offered. This product handles and streamlines the client's SMS-based Value Added Service (VAS) by integrating with EthioTelecom SMS Center (SMSC) through SMPP protocol. By utilizing the Laravel queue system, we were able to enhance resilience and boost sales, giving us an edge over our competitors.

Starting as a school project, my teammates and I undertook the ambitious challenge of developing the Graduate Verification System, a web-based solution aimed at tackling academic document forgery. This project, built with Laravel 5.5 (LTS), involved designing a centralized repository of graduate information. The project's potential for national impact garnered significant media attention, even earning a feature on national television. Though we attempted to turn it into a successful business, the experience provided valuable insights into project development, market validation, and what it takes to make a business successful.

During my part-time software engineering role, I successfully delivered a full-scale web-based solution for a leading client in the hotel and resort sector. This included designing and developing a custom Laravel-based CMS, resulting in a user-friendly platform that streamlined content management for the client.

During my internship, I developed a business directory platform called addisbiz.com using Laravel 4.2, which was the latest version available at the time. This project was my first experience working with Laravel and version control systems. I also developed an open source andegna/calender package on GitHub (https://github.com/andegna/calender) that converts Ethiopian dates to the Gregorian calendar, which I used for this platform. I released it under the MIT license.In addition, I used Drupal to develop a website for a clinic and contributed to the development of two other commercial websites.
