Responsibility:As a team member, was responsible for 60 servers located in several locations where seven servers act as production servers. A Master server across 3 world regions which plays a major role in replicating (transactional Replication) to most of the servers, where the data is consolidated and the authoritative processing in assessing the user’s effort metrics and the project’s metrics is done. • SQL Upgrades from SQL 2000 to 2005 and from 2005 to 2008• Clusters setup– Active / Active and Active/Passive mode • Logshipping and replication setup • Designing the databases, capacity planning, making backup strategy• Creating and maintaining transactional replication for the movement of the data to the different servers• Creating and managing DTS (Data Transformation Services),SSIS and Jobs• Routine DBA activities like analysis of Space Availability, Backups• Monitoring and Fixing any issues with Replication, Log Shipping, DB Space – disk space, DB growth trend reporting • Analysis of the existing setups and specifications of the Project• Setting up of full-proof Disaster Recovery Mechanism.• Creating and Maintaining linked features for Integration of databases with other tools and data.• Checking health of critical servers using a concept called Daily Checklist• Assigning and coordinating task with other team members• Provided consulting services in resolving business and functional issues meeting all the client requirements.• Documentation of Server Builds specifications and Security features.• Implementing and maintaining Database Mirroring for high data availability.
