Described as a ‘committed and hardworking’ professional with ‘an ever willing to learn’ attitude, I thrive on seeking opportunities to work with social enterprises that promote innovative and long-term solutions to socio-economic problems. As a community development professional, I worked extensively in the non-profit sector of India for about 15 years in various capacities, from a base level worker to a team leader. My core areas of work included alternative education, community health, micro-finance, organic farming, fair-trade, livelihood creation, natural resource management and research. My area of expertise has been the promotion of community-based institutions for deprived communities. My achievements include – • Enrolling about 1700 dropouts and never enrolled children into schools, developing basic numeracy and literacy skills for about 500 women. • Launching four major watershed projects each of which impacts up to 4000 households in poverty struck areas. • Participated in 8 research studies relating to Self-Help Group (SHG) movement that led to a positive regulatory change in micro-finance initiatives and creation of more than 400 individual livelihood activities. One of the most fulfilling experience I have had was to participate in a Fairtrade campaign in London, UK and multiple cities in Ireland as a guest speaker representing FFID/Chetna, India. I tend to view things differently and profound among people for being visionary and analytical. I have a keen interest in activities that influence the sustainable growth amongst everyone. I am interested in a role where I can apply my existing skills while learning new skills.
