Director of Research and Development with over 18 years of experience in Internal Combustion engines, spanning academic and laboratory research, modeling, simulation, data acquisition, component design, prototyping and testing. Employed since 2008 at Nostrum Energy, a company focused on innovative solutions for high efficiency and low emissions Internal Combustion engines. I was Nostrum's very first employee, and helped grow it into the company it is today. Prior to my career in the automotive industry, I worked for the Nuclear Industry as Systems Engineering for Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station, followed by a few years doing High Voltage Special Effects (Engineering, Sales, and Support for KVA Effects, the only high voltage SFx company in the world). My hobbies mirror my job; I daily drive a 1200 horsepower water injected Nissan GTR that I did most of the work and all of the calibration on, and on my free time I enjoy designing and building high voltage power supplies and electromagnetic accelerators (Railguns). I pride myself in being able to transform any concept or vision into a finished product: My work experience spans design and prototyping from initial 3D model creation (SolidWorks, ProEngineer and Unigraphics), validation (FEA and CFD), to machining (experienced welder and machinist, lathe, mill, CNC, MIG), assembly, data acquisition, troubleshooting and data analysis. Very familiar with Internal Combustion Engines, Engine Calibration, High Performance driving, as well as electrical Pulsed Power, High Voltage and Electromagnetic Acceleration. I am also fluent in four Languages and hold dual citizenship (US and Brazil).
