Ford College Graduate Rotational Program:Hybrid Control Systems Engineer (7/31/2017-3/29/2018)Hybrid Calibration Engineer (1/1/2017-7/30/2017)Assisted in the emissions testing and design verification testing of four hybrid platforms. This included scheduling and running the tests at the emissions lab. The data from these tests was then collected and analyzed to determine changes that needed to be made to the base calibrations in order to meet emissions standards and pass milestones. Engine Quality Engineer (10/1/2016-12/31/2016)Worked as a quality engineer in the Dearborn Engine Plant, manufacturing the 2.0L GDI engine. Learned about Ford quality metrics and helped identify issues on warrantied engines. Implemented an on-line vacuum system to prevent contamination of the crankshaft and its bearings.Cylinder Block Design and Release Engineer (5/1/2016-9/30/2016)Lead design and release engineer for the Duratec 3.5L cylinder block for the 2021MY program. Communicated with the engine systems engineers to determine what added features would be needed for the new generation of block. Communicated the desired changes to CAD department for design changes that would meet packaging requirements, structural integrity standards, and on-line plant requirements.Engine CAD Designer (2/1/2016-4/30/2016)Designed new locations for knock sensors on future I4 engine programs. These knock sensor locations improved ease of assembly for line workers in the plant and also met all packaging constraints given from the engine systems department. The locations also helped to improve commonality across multiple I4 engine programs to reduce complexity.Engine Systems Engineer (7/27/2015-1/31/2016) Helped lead future models of Nano engines through all necessary milestones in order to achieve signoff from Chief Engineer. Led the campaign prevention for the Nano engines in order to cut down on warranty costs for Ford in the future.

Full spring semester and summer as an intern with a focus on CAD work and problem solving for manufacturing processes for a piston manufacturer. Helped model tools and machine parts in Pro-E to be 3D printed and/or machined. Including a new platen design model for easier robot access to each piston on the line.Helped in testing and implementation of a new burnishing tool for piston pinholes to be used at the end of machine lines.Completed a risk assessment on the machine guarding on each of the 10 machine lines in the plant. Helped determine issues and rooms for improvement in increasing the safety of the guarding on each machine.Ran studies on chip-to-chip times for each machine in order to increase the efficiency of each machine on the line.

Three summers of work experience as an intern at Rowe Construction with an emphasis on quality control.Assisted the Quality Control Managers in the production of concrete and hot mix asphalt (HMA).Participated in the processing of raw materials, production operations, testing, and problem solving on a daily basis.The HMA projects performed included McLean County, IL overlays, Illinois Department of Transportation contracts including: Quality Control/Quality Assurance, Pay for Performance, Quality Control Performance, as well as other municipal projects.Ran tests in the company lab on the asphalt samples that were collected in order to determine the density of the asphalt and air voids in the asphalt so that Rowe could make changes to their asphalt mix in order to better meet the credentials set by the state.
