I work one-on-one with adults who have developmental disabilities or mental illnesses in their home. Personally, I attend to the needs of up to eight adult clients at times, although on average, I care for around three to four clients according to staffing guidelines in my state. My responsibilities include preparing their meals, administering medications, and ensuring their individual goals were met. Detailed documentation of each shift and adherence to patient plans are integral aspects of my job. It is incredibly rewarding to help my clients achieve their potential and enhance their quality of life.

As part of my role, I oversaw the success of large events in the dining hall, managed the operations of two full-service kitchens, maintained the facility’s grounds, and kept up The Historic Building in which the club resides. I led the hiring process for several staff members and effectively managed a team during large parties. Additionally, I handled large orders from a major distributor for our events, maintained the club’s budget, and consistently sought to create elegant dining experiences for our members. The meticulous upkeep of the grounds and facilities demanded superior attention to detail. When renovating or updating sections of the century-old building, I carefully considered its rich history. Furthermore, I managed relationships with over 15 service providers. I deeply valued serving the community at MYC.

Through my time at Foster Adopt Connect I furthered my experience implementing therapeutic practices and gained new skills, such as Behavior Intervention and Crisis Prevention. Building trust with my client and instilling core skills in their life was equally effective as it was rewarding. Routines, verbal prompts, coping tools, and positive reinforcement were also skills I utilized in this role. I found great potential for trauma based therapeutic practices through my time at foster adopt connect. Maintaining a level of consistent work towards progression along with accurate documentation over time allowed me to see proven success through the course of my time working with my client.

During my tenure at CDD, we faced numerous challenges, including the COVID pandemic and various social and environmental stressors that significantly impacted our clientele. Managing therapeutic practices, crisis responses, and maintaining high standards within the organization were paramount. After working part-time in this position for six months, I found a group home within the organization where I excelled and established my foundation in mental health. I hold dear the memories and experiences from my time here.

My Time at Santa Fe Service and Sales was very Important to me. My father owns Santa Fe and I have helped him a lot through my life. I learned fundamental skills pertaining to the service and sale of high-volume printing and bindery equipment during my time there. Machining parts, oil change, customer relations, sales, budgeting, and machine restoration were all functions of this role. Towards the end of my time at Santa Fe I was entrusted to completely restore a tabbing machine that had been salvaged from a flood in a shop owned by one of Santa Fe’s customers. The machine was completely rusted out and each part needed to be restored. I successfully repaired the machine and now it is used in a new customers facility.
