Geomechanics/Structural Geology • Quality check and petrophysical analysis of incoming image log and sonic data, • Structural, sedimentological and geomechanical analysis of image log data using WellCAD software, • Generation of one dimensional mechanical earth models for coal seam gas and conventional gas fields using RokDoc software, • Well bore stability assessment for horizontal development programmes, • Designing mechanical lab testing programmes for acquisition of rock strength and static mechanical properties, • Analysing fault slip/seal tendency and subsidence risk using TrapTester software.Coal Seam Gas Exploration/Appraisal • Static modelling of potential coal seam gas fields in the Surat and Bowen basins using Petrel software, including estimates of original gas in place, • Development of "best practice" approach to coal seam gas stochastic property modelling, • Quality check and petrophysical analysis of input wireline, DST/MDT, isotherm and desorption data, • Working in conjunction with reservoir engineers to assess feasibility of potential development scenarios.

Junior Geologist position which involved; • Quality check and petrophysical analysis of incoming data, • The use of in-house software to process, manipulate and interpret structural, sedimentological and geomechanical features in borehole image log data, • Production of deliverables for clients, including enclosures and reports, • Construction and calibration of mechanical earth models for wellbore stability, fracture stimulation design and fault seal analysis, • Training of new employees in the use of in house software and image log interpretation.
