Whilst being responsible for the day-to-day operation of both the Finance and HR departments of the business, I am also responsible for the procurement and maintaining of all business contracts. In my time with the company, I have reduced overheads by 24.53% whilst helping increase turnover at the same time. I have done this by being the business point of contact for high value customers and suppliers, often negotiating prices and services offered to ensure best value for money.An example of this would be how I, along with our project manager, overhauled the costing and subsequent pricing of jobs we had in place previously. This project allowed me to deepdive into the finances and really take stock of what jobs actually cost us. This resulted in better cost and budget control, a new purchase order system being installed and jobs being priced more accurately with the ability to adjust according the economic climate. I also work with our project manager to develop and rollout new initiatives and working practices to the rest of the group. Since taking the role, our operating systems have been overhauled, a new performance management/reporting platform has been installed, a company rebrand has taken place and we are currently in the progress of migrating from an SQL server to Microsoft SharePoint. All of these are with the aim of making the group more cost efficient and adaptable as a business. Show less

When the company was understaffed with drivers, I volunteered to help by training and successfully obtaining my category D licence. Having this qualification has meant I have travelled the country on both contracts and private hires, thus allowing the company to increase capacity and profitability.
