I work in the PORT WS infrastructure team, where we build the new iteration of the Terminal’s PORT function.While at Bloomberg, I’ve volunteered in behalf of the company at many of our non-profit partners, including 9/11 Memorial & Museum, Billion Oyster Project, Central Park Conservancy, Friends of Governors Island, HISPA, New York Common Pantry, and the New York Public Library. I have also been a part of language translation and humanitarian relief efforts organized by Bloomberg Philanthropies.Additionally, I’m a proud participant of Bloomberg’s Latinx Community, where I help with recruitment efforts focused on Hispanic Serving Institutions.

I researched energy efficiency at the programming level for a NSF-funded project with Professor David Liu. I started off by investigating the concept of capacity planning and developing a lambda-calculus capable of describing energy types. Later, I extended the Java compiler to assess energy usage at the function-call level. Given Java's portability, this meant we may calculate a program’s power distribution on any machine.Next, I identified the power consumption dependencies between methods by dynamically analyzing their call traces via Java reflection. After testing with various benchmarks, I improved performance using feedback-directed optimization and adaptive sampling techniques. Lastly, I investigated recursive cases and developed a finite-state machine for our compiler extension that captures the energy distribution of the different components in a recursive call.
