I have lived in Silver City since 2001 and I love it here. I moved here from Houston to escape big city life. This is the perfect place to live an amazing life. Silver City and Grant county is full of kind, compassionate people who create a connected community on a daily basis. As Hacienda's Office and Transaction Manager I see all sorts of transactions, so I have a wealth of experience not just in my own transactions but with everything that comes through our office. Oversaw the development and implementation of personnel policies, financial procedures and all aspects of operation for Little Toad Creek's Tasting Room. I managed over two dozen employees including other Managers. I also served as the owners' representative in a variety of local, state and national settings.

At The Wellness Coalition we work to support people and communities in southwest New Mexico and throughout the state.The three main ways we engage young people are: (1) AmeriCorps - providing placement at local non-profits for over 30 AmeriCorps members and Education Awards to an additional 60 members, our AmeriCorps Cadre will earn over $160,000 each year. (2) Conservation Corps - Conservation Corps members are working on projects from Trail Building to Forest Thinning and Restoration. Through our primary partner, we are putting over 50 young men and women to work this year on our public lands. (3) Youth Volunteer Corps - Young people ages 11-18 are working as volunteers to make their community a better place. Our Youth Volunteer Corps takes a community need and turns it into a positive activity to engage themselves and peers in community service.Specialties: Youth Corps : Capacity Building : IT Systems

I led the implementation of southwest New Mexico's first AmeriCorps program - a regional approach to National Service which adapted the Intermediary Model to fit rural communities. I was also able to successfully add Youth Conservation Corps to our Program Model which opened up more opportunities for young people to serve.

I was an independent sales rep for SC Sales, a company I founded in 2001. SC Sales group represented bicycle component manufacturers to bike shops from Las Vegas to El Paso. Look Cycles, SIDI shoes, Easton, Cycle Genius Recumbents, GU Energy products and much more! I closed my sales business so I could take a job with a little less time behind the windshield and enjoy living in Silver City.

Planetary Cycles is a world class bicycle shop in Houston, Texas. I managed all aspects of store operations, from the sales floor to the repair shop. My happiest task was leading a weekly "casual ride" on Saturday mornings where I was able to take folks all across town on a fun and friendly group ride.

Wheatsville was where I was first introduced to organic foods and the cooperative business model. Wheatsville's philosphy of business as an engine for community change has always been with me. I had several job assignments (including Head of the Cheese Department), but my final job was serving as Front End Manager. As the Front End Manager I was responsible for coordination of general store operations with other department heads, managing front end staff (cashiers), and communicating operational concerns to the General Manager. My final project was the successful transition of our analog cash register system to a computerized Point of Sale system.
