• Collaborate on projects with internal Disney teams and outside vendors on bleeding edge technology for conceptual future-proof broadcast and file distribution systems and workflows• Serve as a technical leader and liaison between Operations Management and Engineering Staff, maintaining a high level of collaboration in a time sensitive environment • Responsible for the design, implementation and execution of system projects for the Disney ABC Cable Networks Group (DANG) Creative Services department. • Manage a team of Media Engineers and oversee progress of projects which include but not limited to hardware and software application upgrades and integration within DANG.

• Manage a team of Media Engineers who maintain and improve production systems that move, manipulate and catalog assets in a file-based environment in preparation for Broadcast and file distribution• Provide hands-on experience and technical support for multiple clients including but not limited to Creative Services, Media Services, Broadcast Engineering, Operations and Non Linear Distribution.

• Research new innovative video/audio codecs and toolsets for in-house implementation• Design rigorous file transformation tests to execute on new codecs and compression methods as it pertains to the quality of content• Engage in communication with vendors to improve the creation, transformation and compatibility of files, i.e. Apple, Sony, Dolby Laboratories, Rozhet, Metaglue, Mac Caption, Harmonics etc. • Collaborate with outside post production facilities on the delivery process and file quality for Disney Cable Networks Group acceptance. This includes but not limited to file format, structure, standards and specifications

• Maintain a lab oriented work space for the research of new file transformation tools and deliver recommendations to Disney Cable Networks Group Director of Emerging Technologies• Lead Specialist in research and testing of latest Photo Sensitive Epilepsy technology for implementation within the Disney Channel facility and outside post production vendors.• Create efficiencies within standard conversion workflows for the delivery of Disney content to Domestic and International partners.

• Quality assure Original content to Disney specifications and NTSC/ATSC/OFCOM compliance for domestic broadcast and international distribution • Trained and develop QA personnel to improve value to the department and the company• Create and enforced standard operating procedures relating to correction of any discrepancies within master delivery and acquisition content

• Monitor network signal paths for East and West coast broadcast of Disney Channel, Toon Disney and Soapnet while ensuring highest quality continuous playback.• Troubleshoot and take appropriate action to correct any disruptions of video and audio signals within the broadcast center while fielding affiliate phone calls.

• Perform daily duties in Master Control and Technical Operation Center for a 24-hour central casting multi-channel facility covering Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, and Boston.• Responsible for facilitating satellite down links and fiber feeds for live events and syndicated program feeds.• Monitor numerous major-market full-power transmitters to ensure compliance with FCC rules and regulations, and making adjustments as needed remotely.
