Sam Darwish is the Chairman and CEO of IHS Towers, the third largest independent multinational towerco in the world. Sam founded IHS Towers in 2001. Under his leadership, IHS Towers has grown from a start-up infrastructure company in Africa to one of the world’s leading emerging market communications infrastructure businesses. On a personal level, Sam is a passionate advocate for the power of education and the importance of ensuring equal access. In 2021, Sam was instrumental in the launch of IHS’ Frontline Workers Initiative; a unique scholarship program which offers full funding for the university education of the children of IHS’ frontline workers, helping them access lifelong opportunities. Additionally, Sam founded Singularity Investments, a private investment company focused on investing in the TMT space with investments in both the US and globally. He also serves on the boards of the Wilson Centre, a think tank based in Washington, DC, and the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York.
