As a Civil Supervisor and Geotechnical Inspector for the Aldoga Solar Farm project, I am responsible for overseeing the construction of critical infrastructure, including the substation pad and various concrete structures. My role involves ensuring that all civil works are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety, with a particular focus on the following areas:Supervision and Oversight: Leading and managing teams from both Genus and a civil crew subcontracted from McCoska’s to construct the substation pad and associated concrete structures, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.Geotechnical Inspections: Conducting comprehensive geotechnical inspections for crane pads, peers, piling, and foundation works for power poles, lighting masts, and buildings. This includes monitoring soil conditions, assessing compaction levels, bearing capacity and ensuring the structural integrity of foundations.Quality Control: Implementing and maintaining quality control procedures, ensuring that all materials and construction methods meet project requirements and industry standards.Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project managers to resolve technical issues, provide updates, and ensure seamless communication across all project stages.Safety Management: Promoting a strong safety culture on-site by enforcing safety protocols and conducting regular safety inspections.This role combines my expertise in civil construction and geotechnical engineering, contributing to the successful delivery of one of Central Queensland's key renewable energy projects.
