During my time at total processing, I took on ownership of many roles. From onboarding new customers and supporting exisiting merchants, to managing our books with acquirers and gateway management, I had my fingers in all aspects of being a payment processor.We dealt with a huge variety of clients with varying products and requirements: Gaming, Crypto, Retail, Subscriptions and many more, so becoming an expert in those clients is just as important as understanding our own business.First and foremost, my role was to ensure that every merchant no matter what size, receives the sameexceptional level of service. I had built a fantastic support team which epitomise the level of service I demanded of them.As a key stakeholder for day-to-day operations, ensuring that payment processing across the company is working correctly and maintaining relationships with our acquirers was key. I helped to organise the teams to one goal. Smooth operations are my primary concern and have championed the development of salesforce and key internal processes to help drive a reliable environment.Communication is key, and set up regular calls with acquirers to discuss all manners of issues, from risk and fraud, to operations and finance. I also maintain a strong relationship with internal departments; Sales, Underwriting, Tech, to ensure the sales to delivery process is strong.I readily talk about the technical aspects of integration and acquirer processes, rules of the card schemes and the ins and outs of the merchants that I work with to help drive business forward.

During my time at bet365 I progressed from my initial role as Customer Services Advisor, through hard work, dedication, and an eye for detail, to a Payments Team Leader.My role within the Payments team typically involved:- Handling hundreds of thousands of payments, to and from our customers- Issue monitoring of incoming payments- Assisting with customer queries- Tracing missing payments alongside our payment providers- Reconciling accounts to ensure funds are correctly allocatedHowever, my skills are not limited to this list, every day was an opportunity to put my knowledge andexperience of payments to the test. With the business constantly expanding, new challenges were always arising and I was tasked on meeting those challenges every day. As the Team Leader, working on developing my team through development plans was a key area and something I took great pride in.

Although my role changed over the years from being part time at university to becoming full time and running 3 shops at Manchester Airport, I feel that working at WHSmith was essential for my development from being a student to a professional. My days consisted of staffing and planning rota's, arranging deliveries and dispatching stock from the warehouse, and liaising with Airport directors to ensure the Airport is shown in the best light.
