I am a registered Industrial/Organisational Psychologist, specialising in driving business performance through the employee experience - because when your people thrive, so does your business.     Some key highlights from my time at Nando's:- Implementing a simple and cheap savings solution to help our staff in January when school fees are due (when we saw the highest turnover rates, as staff would quit to get access to provident funds). We now have over 50% of our staff collectively saving millions of Rands every year and a much lower turnover rate in January.- Values go much further than the workspace. Our revamp of the internal values went further than focus groups and launches. We embedded our values through a 2 year programme, including publishing a children's book, with the core story written and illustrated by our own staff. The end goal was to take our values beyond the workspace as well as address literacy issues in our communities. In the end, we published 7000 books for our staff to take home over Christmas and gift to their children, or children in their communities.-Communicating our EVP is difficult because what Nando's offers is so much more than benefits. To truly encapsulate what it's like to work for Nando's and what we offer, I produced the Nando's beat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIzh3gAuWYI - Internal communication poses a problem for us due to data costs. I built and implemented a WhatsApp channel for internal use. We have reached 90% engagement on that line and have integrated it for a full employee experience (including leave balance checks, event updates, notifications on business initiatives, surveys, incentives and birthday messages).- I run engagement surveys via reverse charged sites, in multiple languages with unique video reporting to close the feedback loop. We reach over 70% engagement on these surveys.- I scoped out and managed a bespoke build of our own online Goal Management, Talent Mapping and Leadership 360 system, to fully meet the needs of our organisation.
