I'm a values-based leader who is passionate about developing leadership capabilities in others and building a positive workplace culture that helps people enjoy their work and make their highest contribution. I’m at my best when working with leaders and teams to explore and think differently. I love to use my facilitation skills to clarify root causes of challenges and problems and help identify simple, practical solutions.I have done that in a number of different roles, most recently as part of the executive team for a large medical centre group where I was responsible for people and culture but closely involved in all internal operations. Prior to that I led a health and community development organisation in China and focused on development of Chinese nationals to design and lead their own sustainable programs in their own communities. I spent 12 years working in China, initially training village doctors and then in various roles leading projects that provided services to the poor and marginalised, and finally senior leadership roles overseeing the whole organisation. I am currently a non-executive director of Wesley Mission - a large community services provider.At my best I’m a leader who grows an organisation by growing its leadership and shaping its culture. I believe that business growth is a natural outcome of a people focused culture that cultivates engaged employees, clearly connected to the purpose and supporting them to make their highest contribution towards it.I’m looking for opportunities where I can impact the leadership of the organisation: where I can upskill leaders and managers and create environments where people thrive and grow – where the organisation serves them as much as they serve the organisation.
