To provide specialist advice and input into the Care Quality Commission’s (CQCs) regulatory inspection and investigation activity. This advice ensures that CQC’s judgements are informed by up to date and credible clinical and professional knowledge and experience.

Working within the Urgent Care Team for adults

IMHA– providing non instructed and instructed advocacy to patients who are sectioned under the Mental Health Act. For non-IMHA (general) advocacy, we also offer specialist support worker either through our IMHA’s or staff with VCAT;• The IMHA will provide information and support to people who wish to advocate for themselves;• The service will provide telephone support which will be available for clients and/or staff who require support when the IMHA is not on site.• The service will provide information and support to mental health service users by enabling access to the full range of networks of advice services as close to their residing address, as is practicable;• Where appropriate, the service will provide on-going support services after discharge, which can be accessed from various community locations across Trafford. We currently run a drop in session once a week at BluSCI, Seymour Grove, Old Trafford; • Providing staff training to assist further learning and awareness of the IMHA service and related subjects• Production and dissemination of literature, promotion material and information (for Staff, Patients and Visitors) to support the provision of the IMHA services.CAA - IMHA and Care Act Advocacy undertaken

Working mainly on the psychiatric wards with people subject to the Mental Health Act.
