Dr. Sameen Ahmed Khan an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Sciences, College of Arts and Applied Sciences (CAAS), Dhofar University, Salalah, Sultanate of Oman (http://www.du.edu.om/). He did PhD on the Quantum theory of charged-particle beam optics, from the Institute of Mathematical Sciences (MATSCIENCE/IMSc), Chennai, India, under the supervision of Prof. Ramaswamy Jagannathan. He did Post-Doctoral research at the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN), Padova, Italy and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Cuernavaca, México. He has fifteen years of teaching experience in Oman. He has single-handedly developed a unified treatment of light-beam optics and light polarization using quantum methodologies. This formalism describes the beam-optics and light polarization from a parent Hamiltonian, which is exact and derived from the Maxwell's equations. This new formalism was among the thirty selected by the Optical Society [of America] for the Optics in 2016, highlighting the world-wide breakthroughs innovations in optics and photonics in that year. He has presented his work at numerous conferences across the continents. He has authored four books; fifteen book chapters; and over seventy-five technical publications in journals and proceedings of repute. He has over 250 publications on science popularization. Dr. Sameen is one of the Founding Members of the Ibn al Haytham LHiSA Light: History, Science and Applications (LHiSA) International Society (https://www.ibnalhaytham-lhisa.com/) formed during the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies (http://www.light2015.org/).
