As a junior research student get chance to work closely with experienced researchers. I've been fortunate to contribute to the meticulous planning, data collection, and analysis processes. My participation in the NUYT has kindled a passion for genetics and its real world implications on agriculture. Through this experience, I've gained insight into the collaborative nature of scientific research and its pivotal role in shaping sustainable agricultural practices for the future. I learned about crop planning, layout designs, data collection, selfing & crossing, tagging, selection and results.

In my role, I had the privilege of fostering a dynamic collaborative engagement with esteemed Assistant Professors and dedicated MPhil students, all centered around the fascinating realm of soybean crop research. Through a vibrant exchange of ideas, we embarked on experimental endeavors to optimize crop yield, enhance resistance to prevalent pests, and explore sustainable agricultural practices. This collaborative synergy seamlessly blended the experience and guidance of seasoned Assistant Professors with the fresh perspectives and innovative zeal of the MPhil students. Together, we delved into comprehensive field studies, rigorous lab experiments, and data-driven analyses that have contributed to advancing the knowledge frontiers within the soybean agriculture domain.

As a dedicated student, I have actively engaged in selfing and crossing experiments,deepening my understanding of plant genetics and breeding strategies. Through hands on experience, I have gained proficiency in controlled pollination techniques, meticulous record-keeping, and the nuances of maintaining parental lines.I done selfing and crossing technique in maize, wheat and canola and also observe impact of selfing and crossing in these crops.
