My role as a kitchen helper/Cook was to ensure that all aspects of the business, from cooking ( Indian and Nepali cuisine ) to serving customers, worked as efficiently as possible. Duties include preparing ingredients, adding to the restaurant menu, and following food health and safety procedures. Cook, clean, assist other cooks and staff and deliver food in a fast-paced environment. Work may included operating a grill, oven, or fryer. Some of my roles that i used to complete.1. As a kitchen helper my responsibilities include assisting cooks in the preparation of meal ingredients, helping other staff with unloading food items from delivery trucks. I was also responsible for removing and replacing garbage bags and storing ingredients and food supplies in compliance with food safety standards.Here are some examples of kitchen responsibilities that I used to perform and complete. 1. Take customers’ orders2. Clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances. 3. Use deep fryer, grill, oven, dispensers and other equipment to prepare fast food items such as sandwiches, hamburgers, fries, salads, ice cream dishes, milkshakes and other beverages.4. Portion, assemble, and wrap food or place it directly on plates for service to patrons, and package take-out food. 5. Serve customers at counters or buffet tables. 6. Stock refrigerators and salad bars and keep records of the quantities of food used. 7. Wash and peel vegetables and fruit. 8. Wash work tables, cupboards and appliances.9. Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers. 10. Sweep and mop floors, and perform other duties to assist cook and kitchen staff. 11. Clear and clean tables and trays in eating establishments. 12. Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas and set tables. 13. Remove dishes before and after courses.14. Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwasher or by hand.

I am a trained kitchen helper and I did some kitchen work as a helper during my internship period at G7 Café. During my internship period, I had an opportunity to grow my abilities, like good listening skills and the ability to work for long working hours and personal development. And learn about the key requirements, duties, responsibilities, and skills that should be in a kitchen helper as well. As a trained kitchen helper, I possess excellent knowledge of food safety standards and procedures and an understanding of general kitchen operations and food storage guidelines. After engaging as an intern now, I have improved my skills as a hard-working and dedicated employee.Some of my major skills and extensive knowledge of being a kitchen helper that I have enhanced. 1. Preparing the food ingredients as requested by the Chef. 2. Ensuring all the vegetables and meats are fresh. 3. Helping in unloading the food deliveries. 4. Cleaning the kitchen station all the time. 5. Washing the dishes and utensils. 6. Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor. 7. Making sure the kitchen equipment are well cleaned after use. 8. Stocking the food items properly in the cold storage. 9. Checking the inventory levels and reporting to the kitchen manager. Loading and unloading the dishwasher. 10. Collecting dirt and debris after a regular interval of time. 11. Emptying the dustbins at the end of the shift. 12. Sanitizing the kitchen utensils and plates. Maintaining proper sanitation of the kitchen. Following all food safety and hygiene standards. 13. Clean, peel, and cut vegetables and meat items as I instructed.
