Dr. Sameer Mehta is an Interventional Cardiologist, based in Miami, Florida, who has pioneered a new specialty, that of the STEMI Interventionalist, with his ground-breaking work on short door to balloon time STEMI Interventions. Dr. Sameer Mehta has been the Chief of Interventional Cardiology and the Director of the Cardiovascular Laboratory at Cedars Medical Center in Miami, Florida. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Miami – School of Miami and Past President of the Miami Chapter of the American Heart Association. Dr. Mehta is credited with more than 200 scientific publications. He has been a proctor for Coronary Stenting, Directional and Extraction Atherectomy and for Laser Angioplasty, and he has taught coronary angioplasty procedures in numerous countries. Over the last 22 years, Dr. Mehta has focused mainly on short D2B Interventions that he asserts as being the finest indication of PCI. Dr. Mehta probably has the largest single experience in the world in performing STEMI Interventions. He is the author of six comprehensive Textbooks on STEMI Interventions.
