I obtained my undergraduate degree in B.Sc. Computer Science and completed my Honours degree in BCom Information Systems. My reason for changing faculties was the change in focus. Computer science degrees have a very technical focus, whilst information systems degrees focus strongly on the business application of IT.I am hardworking and enthusiastic about facing new challenges. I can work comfortably within a team-based environment and have gained considerable communication skills from my work as a salesperson as well as a call centre support technician.As a developer I have been exposed to multiple different environments for different projects and have been exposed to different project management approaches. I have worked on projects following a traditional waterfall software development lifecycle as well as projects following more agile approaches such as scrum.My experience as a developer has exposed me to .Net C# developments as well as SQL database development. I have worked both on the windows forms offline platform as well as with asp.net for web development. I have utilised both MS SQL Server as well as Sybase SQL for database development.As a BI consultant and data warehouse developer and analyst, my database knowledge was extended to the reporting and ETL application of SQL scripting. In this arena I have been exposed to multiple dataware housing environments such as MS SQL SSIS as well as Teradata and Sybase IQ. I have also been exposed the the front end reporting with tools such as IBM Cognos and MS Excel.
