For the last 6 months, working on moving 10s of thousands of Solr Search Servers to the Public Cloud.- Building a multi-substrate strategy for both GCP and AWS, based on Kubernetes and Blob Stores.- Designing for being cost competitive with First Party Datacenter installations.- Leverage Elastic Compute for scaling indexing and query loads.- Design for HA and DR across Availability Zones.Working on - Providing very large scale distributed Block and Blob storage systems(internal AWS equivalent) .- Low long tail latency, quorum based write optimized storage for large scale transactional systems.- Enhancing and building off of the limited capabilities of open source technologies like openstack, and enhancing it for the next generation IaaS platforms.- Using and leveraging commodity hardware to build scale up solutions for tiered storage with RDMA, SSD (optane) and regular SSDs.- Working with Network Block Devices(nbd) as a replacement for Ceph raw block device (RBD)- Using Ceph as a backend for block and blob and enhancing it to meet our IaaS specific requirements.- Integrating Ceph for a SAN replacement for multiple types of RDBMS loads.(Fine print: All of the above have already been presented externally to approved Ceph and book keeper meet ups and open source communities)

Building extensions to Hadoop storage technologies, in the areas of supporting local/remote Heterogeneous Storage Systems and a common Catalog. Worked with Atmos, ViPR, multiple HDFS versions, DAS and NAS. Designing Pivotal eXtension Framework to use independent containers and control with Zookeeper.Filed for 7 patents in the storage area.
