Sameer is one of the co-founders of ThinqDeliver that provides a Software as a Service product offering to Non-Governmental Organisation in Africa to assist with Election monitoring. In this role, Sameer is the technical advisor and hands-on technical architect and decision maker. In addition to this Sameer managed the operational side of the business.

Sameer is the Market Technology Principal for ThoughtWorks Perth. In this role Sameer is responsible for supporting the sales team, mentoring and sponsoring the local team, community engagement activities and keeping abreast of the latest technology trends. In addition to this Sameer ensures ThoughtWorks provides a great experience for both our clients and consultants through regular communication, collaboration, technical advice and leadership. Sameer is also part of the ThoughtWorks Western Australian Leadership team and works collaboratively with its members to define and execute the office strategy.

Bank of New Zealand(BNZ) requested ThoughtWorks to provide an assessment of their new generation Loan Origination and Joining platform called LOPI. BNZ has been working on the platform for the past two years. ThoughtWorks provided a team that assessed LOPI against the following technical principles, being cloud-native, evolutionary architecture, stability, robustness, security, DevOps capabilities and observability. In addition to this, the team also assessed LOPIs agility by applying ThoughtWorks Agile Maturity Model. Sameer was brought in to help guide the team and bring in his technical leadership capabilities. During that time, Sameer introduced the ThoughtWorks and client teams to the Agile Maturity Model and how to apply it, set up the workshops and facilitated them and added additional dimensions to architecture principals. Sameer, lead the assessment of the Microsoft technology landscape and engaged senior technical stakeholders to understand their decisions. Sameer also worked closely with the ThoughtWorks consultants and the LOPI technical teams and stakeholders to get a holistic overview of the LOPI program, to ensure a balanced actionable set of recommendations were put forward. At the conclusion of the engagement, BNZ was provided with a comprehensive recommendations report that they fully supported and set out to execute.

Sameer was a technical advisor/developer at ZoraTech. In this role, Sameer developed the solution architecture and collaboratively worked with the ZoraTech team to integrate various systems. He is worked on a Business Intelligence platform that reports over data from various 3rd parties. The platform was designed to be cloud-first with Azure as the Target Platform.

BHP have started on their journey to increase their agility. One of the experiments that they ran was to answer the question of how to have a unified view of universally accessible data for the organization. ThoughtWorks was brought in to help introduce a product mindset approach as a potential way forward.Sameer lead the ThoughtWorks team used the ThoughtWorks Agile Maturity Model to assess the enterprise data and analytics team. Sameer also carried out interviews with senior technical leaders within BHPs data space to understand their platforms, architecture and roadmaps. Sameer worked closely with the Architecture Lead and his team to help build a Data Management Program Architecture(DMPA) to support the product mindset experiment. The DMPA embraced some basic principles such as reuse, empowered teams, the speed of delivery and customer focus. BHP ran an experiment to try a new way of working with cross-functional teams that owned end to end delivery. ThoughtWorks was brought in to help guide and run the experiment with the placement of a hybrid exemplary team within S&I.Sameer was the team lead and was responsible for the technical vision and architecture, technical stakeholder management, hands-on delivery and empowering the team to build customer valued software.Early on, Sameer drove key technical decision such as the use of .NET core and setup of the Continous Delivery pipeline. He was also involved in determining the target state for a decision support system that looked at the holistic mining operations from scheduling to execution. Sameer worked with solution architects towards an implementation that would provide a platform to enable teams to deliver faster using intuitive API's to support consumer-centric and analytics use cases. Sameer was also involved in the uplift and coaching of client developers, product owners and senior managers. He presented talks around quality and collective ownership. He helped coach developers on pragmatic test-driven development, building software incrementally and using software patterns. Sameer worked with the ThoughtWorks team to deliver the Broker Action Portal. Sameer was involved at the onset of the discovery and inception to provide a technical lens over the viability of the possible approaches to deliver. Once delivery began, Sameer was responsible for high level solution design, technical stakeholder management, and hands on delivery of working software. Key achievements were the delivery of the Broker Action Portal a new to market offering within 6 months and the use of core banking api’s within the application.

Sameer was brought on to this project to help deliver a MVP quickly to the stakeholders for them to assess the viability of the concept. The project was data visualisation heavy with a small team of 2 developers and 1 Designer. Sameer’s technical decisions and management of the visual design process was key to the success of the project. Sameer setup the AngularJs 2.0 framework and the delivery pipeline using S3. Sameer also spiked the integration of D3 into the project and setup patterns for the junior developers to use as a guideline.The key achievement was delivering the project within a month which was beyond the stakeholder expectations and the presentations of the MVP to the Prime Minister’s office.
